Technomancer (PS4)

technomancer

These are unlikely words the Technomancer dev team wants to hear, but their game recalls Too Human. The brisk and involved action, coupled with mechanical sci-fi leaves the same unavoidable impression. Beginning with out-of-nowhere fiction (as too many do), the world and its methods spring quickly to life. It’s Mars, it’s a moody caste system, and bunches of in-fighting, all cobbled together in under a minute or so cinematics.

When in play, Technomancer’s capabilities show until the derivatives crop up. Skill trees and leveling serve the sense of progression, albeit arduously. Even with an elegant quick hot key set-up, the menus keep going. It’s a crowded market these days for deep ARPGs, but it’s nice to see B-level software still popping up.
